Our Mission

We believe everyone deserves access to professional-grade audio tools. SongFinder started with a simple frustration: the tools we needed as developers and musicians were either locked behind expensive subscriptions or so limited they were barely useful. So we built the alternative we wanted to use.

Today, SongFinder is a small team of developers and musicians on a single mission — make powerful audio tools free, fast, and available to anyone with a browser.

What We Build

At our core is a free music recognition service. When you submit an audio clip or recording, the server sends that input through the configured recognition services and uses a fallback chain when needed. Link-based recognition depends on the configured provider and supported URL type; a media page is not guaranteed to be fetched or identified. Coverage also depends on the recording, so no match is guaranteed.

Around that service, we've built a growing set of free tools for recognition, music discovery, audio analysis, and browser-based editing. Detect BPM and key, convert audio to MIDI, trim and format files, find lyrics or similar songs, and more. Browser-based analysis and editing stay on your device; recognition and catalogue lookup features use the network requests needed to return their results.

Privacy First

SongFinder is browser-based and privacy-first by design. Your audio is processed for the task at hand and nothing more — we don't store your files, build a profile on you, or sell your data. What you upload stays yours.

Why Free

Professional audio tools have historically been gatekept by price. A student learning to produce, an independent artist on a tight budget, a curious listener trying to name a song — none of them should need a credit card to get answers. Keeping our tools free and accessible isn't a marketing gimmick for us; it's the whole point.
