Upload a chorus, verse, or drum-led passage rather than a beatless intro. The browser compares separate sections where possible, so a stable pulse and agreement between passages produce more useful confidence than one isolated peak.

A detector can lock onto a subdivision or a broader pulse, making 62 and 124 BPM describe the same timing relationship. Compare the result with how you would beatmatch, then use the half/double controls or tap at least eight beats before changing a grid.

The algorithm can lock onto a subdivision or a higher-level pulse. Use the ÷2 or ×2 buttons to correct it.
Can I detect BPM for multiple audio files in batch?
Drop up to 50 audio files. Each is analyzed sequentially for BPM, musical key, confidence, and feel - then you can sort by BPM and export everything as CSV. All processing happens locally in your browser.
What does BPM detection confidence mean?
It combines beat-phase consistency with segment agreement - long tracks are analyzed at both the start and end, and matching results raise confidence. Fallback methods lower it.
Can I detect BPM from MP3, WAV, video, or a YouTube link?
You can analyze a saved MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, WebM, or MP4 file up to 200MB. The detector does not read a YouTube URL directly; save a clip you are allowed to use, or use Song BPM & Key when you only need catalogue data for a released track.
How accurate is an online BPM detector?
Accuracy depends on the recording rather than a fixed error range. Steady, drum-led passages usually produce stronger agreement; tempo changes, rubato, ambient sections, crowd noise, and sparse percussion need tap-tempo or a second-section check. Key detection is a separate best-effort chroma estimate.
