What is the Camelot code?
The Camelot system assigns each key a number (1-12) and a letter (A for minor, B for major). Compatible keys for harmonic mixing are the same code, ±1, or switching A↔B.
What is the relative key?
Every major key shares its notes with one minor key (e.g., C major ↔ A minor). They share the same Camelot number. If the detector picks major but the song sounds dark, the relative minor may be more accurate.
How accurate is an online song key finder?
Confidence describes how closely the combined pitch profile matched the selected key and whether the start, middle, and end agreed. It is a comparison signal, not a universal accuracy percentage. Close candidates, key changes, sparse harmony, or atonal material require a listening check.
