Why does noise reduction export a mono 48 kHz WAV?
RNNoise processes a single mono channel at 48 kHz, so the export is a mono 48 kHz WAV. It works best on voice recordings.
What kinds of background noise can this remove?
It is most useful for steady fan noise, hiss, hum, traffic, and similar background sound in voice-led recordings. Sudden noises and overlapping music are harder.
Why can noise reduction make speech sound metallic?
Artifacts appear when background noise overlaps the same frequencies and timing as speech, leaving the model little clean voice information to preserve. Preview consonants and quiet words carefully; keep the original when the processing damage outweighs the noise reduction.
